My Book List

I made a list of my top songs a while ago. Now, I have decided to make a list of things that are worth more than songs: books. Beautiful, incredible, and melancholy. Great books that I have suggested to almost everyone. Here they are (not in order, of course):

1. The Harry Potter series (7 books)

2. The Percy Jackson series (5 books)

3. The Lost Hero series (A follow-up to Percy Jackson... Series not yet finished)

4. The Hunger Games trilogy

5. The Goose Girl series (4 books)

6. The Fablehaven trilogy

7. The Children of the Lamp trilogy

8. The Inkheart trilogy

9. Dragon Rider

10. The Land of Elyon trilogy

These books have left me crying, laughing, amazed, thoughtful, sometimes angry, and a few time, completely speechless. These are the books that I can read over and over without getting sick of them. Each story is full of captivating story lines. Enjoy the fantasies these novels will suck you into... I find find that once I'm in, it's hard to get out!

Back to School

Well, Spring Break is over and it's back to school for me. But it won't be too bad, because I get to see all my friends again, and Brooke is home! We are going to have such a good time together! Along with being back at school, the Young Women are starting our fundraiser for Girls Camp. We're selling chocolate and caramel dipped pretzels for Mother's Day. Yummy!

Spring Break

Spring break is finally here! Time to party! These flowers are really pretty. . .

I hope I'll be able to spend time with all my family and friends during vacation! I miss you all!

I have a whole list of things I want to do during vacation:

• Go to the beach

• Enjoy General Conference

• Read!

• Sleep in

• Go to the park

• Watch movies

• Have Wii tournaments

• Play freeze tag

And lots more! This is going to be the best spring break EVER!

Hey!!! I just wanted to share my recommended top eight songs. I would have ten, but I couldn't think of enough. These are carefully chosen by whether or not I want to get up and dance to them! :P

Oh, and these aren't really in order, until near the bottom, sorry.

8) Animal by Neon Trees

7) Chasing Pavements by Adele

6) Check Yes Juliet by We the Kings

5) My Best Theory by Jimmy Eat World

4) Mine by Taylor Swift

3) Electric Twist by A Fine Frenzy

2) King of Anything by Sara Bareilles

1) Follow Me Down by 3oh3

Well, that's it! I could listen to each of them for hours!!!!! Look these up on Youtube, because they're really good songs. Anyways, thank you to everyone who still checks out my blog. Please comment!

The Family Down, Missions, and Halloween

This weekend was AWESOME!! On Friday, Lauren, Seth, Brooke, and Riley drove down for the weekend. Riley had to do temple work for his mission Saturday morning. Brooke and I were in a Christmas mood, so we put in a pine tree scentsy, and I turned on Harry Connick Christmas music. ;) After everyone got home from the temple, we had Panera for lunch with Grandmary, Grandpa, and Clark. What yummy sandwiches. Then, all of us kids went to the park, where we rode bikes, scooters, and longboards. It was really fun!

Today, we drove up to my cousin Todd Locken's ward, where he was giving a talk in sacrament meeting because he returned from his mission recently. For those of you taking a break from Facebook and reading my blog that don't know Todd, he served a mission in El Salvador, San Salvador, West Belize Mission. Lauren, Brooke, Seth, and Riley left after Sacrament meeting. It was very sad =(

But afterwards, we ate delicious food at my Aunt Vicky's house!!!

Anyways, Happy Halloween, everybody!!!

This picture really made me laugh... But it would probably scare little kids.

Happy General Conference!

Have you heard??? Riley got his mission call! He is going to the Mexican Tuxtla Gutierrez Mission, where he will become a fluent Spanish speaker. His mission is all the way to the very bottom of Mexico, the border of Guatemala. We're all excited for him. Did I say "we"? I meant me. I am so excited to here about all the baptisms he'll do, who his companions are, how the food is (I've heard it will be spicy!),etc. Good luck, Riley!!

Happy General Conference, everybody! I think this was the best one yet. (But then again, I think that about all of them. ) At this General Conference, President Thomas S. Monson challenged us to be grateful. Personally, I would like to challenge you, and myself, to be grateful by doing two acts of service, in or out of your family twice a week. Also, give thanks to someone, anyone, every day. This becomes a great habit in daily life. It may even be a missionary experience! Have a great October!

The Library

On Tuesday, Brooke went to the library, and I asked her to rent the second Anne of Green Gables book for me, Anne of Avonlea. Unfortunately, it wasn't there so she put it on hold for me.

Instead, she rented out two wonderful books for me to read until we could get it! The first book was From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, which I loved! Even that I finished it that day. I recommend it, along with the other book, which I started and finished the next day, Small Steps, by Louis Sachar. It's a sequel to his book Holes.
